An absolute treasure of a restaurant. If you’re looking for a quality date night, excellent meal or fabulous coffee/cocktail Loam should be on the must try list. It’s located in a quaint town near wine country and is truly a hidden gem. The owners are very involved not only in their restaurant but their local community as well. They partner with local small businesses, farmers and wine makers to ensure they’re serving up the best. Truly you have to go twice as there weekend brunch and dinners are something you won’t want to miss.
On a recent visit to Oregon Wine Country we made reservations at Loam, in Dayton, just off Hwy 18. It was DELICIOUS! There was something for everyone, including me, a vegetarian who cannot eat alliums (onions and all related plants). The wine options were great,an inspired cocktail list, mocktail list, and other NA beverage options. Loam is primarily open for breakfast and lunch, but also open for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. The Friday night that we were there, there was a Summer in the Park community event happening across the street with LIVE music. It’s great Wine Country Fun!
The Hidden Gem of Willamette Valley!! I wish I would have taken a picture of my food before I ate half of it. Couldn't wait! Cheddar biscuit breakfast sandwich and pancakes were amazing. Make sure you get the side of potatoes they may have been the best breakfast potatoes I've ever had. Willamette has amazing food... Loam adds to that food prestige.
LOVE brunch! Nice location, lovely atmosphere. We ordered a few of their zero proof drinks... really fun! However, a bloody mary is a must at brunch. The bloody mary was good, but not as spicy as I had hoped. We had the french toast, really good. The brisket sandwich, filling and delicious. The chilaquiles are always a fan favorite, but these are not the 'normal' chilaquiles. They actually tasted sweet. Likely will select something else next time. Service was a bit slow, but had a good time anyway!!
Today was my first trip to Loam, and I was impressed. The service was awesome! We had a super attentive server who hung out to chat about the place when she had time, told us the history of the bar, and talked about the local farm suppliers. Having worked in food service in restaurants, breweries, and pubs for many years, I have really high standards for good service. She nailed it! She answered my questions about the menu, made suggestions, checked back after our food came, our water was refilled, and plates were cleared. Those plates!! Such beautiful China - every tiny detail shows how much love is put into this place. The red potatoes were AMAZING! I ordered a side of the potatoes, two well-cooked eggs that came out perfectly, and a chive biscuit. My boyfriend got the brisket sandwich with a salad. He said the sandwich was delicious. The dressing on the salad was delightful as well. I happily enjoyed my Flag & Wire cappuccino while waiting for brunch. The menu has lots of creative, lovely offerings that any foodie will enjoy. I would have liked to see a vegetarian offering to satisfy a more traditional, savory breakfast craving, but I was happy to order items a la cart. A vegetarian gravy with those DELICIOUS biscuits would be on point!! The interior is warm and inviting and has a sort of rustic, industrial type vibe, but beautifully decorated. The bathroom was clean and had fun decor. I'm looking forward to going back to try their dinner menu and cocktails! Overall, we really enjoyed brunch, and I highly recommend giving Loam a visit anytime you're in the area. It's also fully wheelchair accessible! Cheers!!
Every time I come to this restaurant, I think to myself “why don’t I come here every single day’” I’ve come for brunch. I’ve come for dinner multiple times. Ordered different things every time and every time it is amazing memorable and I am so happy. This gem is a winner. Big time.
The food was so delicious and the gal running the bar was a lovely human. We really enjoyed our brunch and latte to go. The breakfast potatoes were some of the best I’ve ever had.
Loam is a true gem—we loved it so much, we went twice in one day for both brunch and dinner, and each meal was outstanding. At brunch, the veggie sandwich stood out for its perfect balance—light, flavorful, and wonderfully crunchy. Paired with the muffin special, which had a unique and delicious flavor combination, and a great cup of coffee, it made for a memorable start to the day. Dinner was equally impressive. The salmon and clams were cooked to perfection—fresh, tender, and full of depth. To top it off, the panna cotta was smooth, delicate, and the perfect end to the meal. Loam delivers on every front: fresh ingredients, creative dishes, and flawless execution. Highly recommended for any time of the day.
